The Maryland SoccerPlex is the EXCLUSIVE home of Embassy Cup.  With its 24 immaculately groomed fields the complex is the perfect location for a premier-level tournament.

In October 2000, the Maryland SoccerPlex opened with 19 full sized irrigated soccer fields. Each field measures 115 x 75 yards and one side of each field has a berm ideal for spectator seating. The fields are organized in clusters of four or five fields with parking and a comfort station for each cluster. The parking was built at 75 spaces per field to ensure that teams coming for the next game would have ample parking. In 2008, 3 lighted synthetic turf fields were added to the SoccerPlex. The complex was completed in May 2016 with the addition of the final two fields, bringing the complex to 24 fields.

One of the attractions of the complex is the Championship Stadium. The stadium sits in a natural bowl with a paved lit plaza surrounding it. The field is a premier sand-based under drain construction that drains an average of eight inches of water an hour. There is seating for 4,000 spectators. The Musco lighting is broadcast quality and the field has Kwik Goal Pro Premier World Competition Goals. The atmosphere is electrifying.

The Championship Stadium has hosted a US Olympic qualifier, MLS Open Cup matches, a CONCACAF Champions League match, the ACC Men’s Soccer Championships, USL and W League matches, training sessions for Argentina’s Boca Juniors and the New Zealand National team. In addition, the US Youth Soccer National Championships were held at the Maryland SoccerPlex in 2002 and 2003 and are being held there again in July of 2014.  The Championship Stadium has been voted Field of the Year twice, once in 2011 for Field of the Year in the Parks and Recreation category and then again in 2014 for Professional Soccer Field of the Year.

The Championship Stadium is home to the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The seating capacity is 4,000 with corresponding restroom facilities; there is a formal press box and box office. The playing field measures 115 x 75 yards. And an attractive black picket perimeter fence surrounds the entire stadium.

The Maryland SoccerPlex welcomes more than 650,000 visitors a year. The majority of visitors come from the local soccer clubs and leagues that play more than 5,000 matches at the complex annually. However, teams from all over the country come to participate in some of the most competitive youth soccer and lacrosse tournaments in the country.

College Coaches – Register to Attend This Event

We invite you to attend this year’s Bethesda Premier Cup Tournament - the Girls November 9, 10 and 11 and the Boys on November 16, 17 and 18 at the nationally renowned Maryland SoccerPlex.  You’ll be able to scout players in the U16, U17, U18 and U19 age groups all playing on premier fields in one location.  Teams from more than a dozen states will be attending this top-ranked tournament giving you an opportunity to move toward completion of your scouting of the 2018 graduates or get an early start of the class of 2019.  The U16, U17, U18 and U19 age groups will play a full and firm schedule of three 80-minute round-robin games, enabling you to know in advance who’ll be playing on which field when, without the uncertainty of game results affecting the schedule.

College coaches should sign up for the tournament by going to GotSoccer.com or Bethesdasoccer.org.  Coaches that sign in advance for the tournament will receive a complimentary player profile book produced by CaptainU that can be picked up at the College Coaches tent located near Field #20 at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

This year, each game at the SoccerPlex will be filmed by our exclusive video provider, GameTimeFootage, which will provide post-event games to footage through its on-demand platform, Free of charge, to all registered college coaches.

We will send teams their acceptances for the tournament by October 3.  Many have already entered their player data, others will follow shortly after acceptance.  This permits you to do your homework at your convenience in advance of the tournament.  Game schedules will also be posted by early November at http://www.bethesdasoccer.org so you can plan your scouting in advance instead of on the event or day of the games.

Thank you for your interest in the Bethesda Premier Cup Tournament.  We look forward to seeing you in November.
